Edinburgh to Aberdeen Cycle
June 12 @ 5:30 pm - June 14 @ 5:30 pm
The plan is to meet on Portobello Promenade to cycle the 141 miles up to Aberdeen following the National 1 cycling route. This would be a chilled cycle that we will do over 2 and a half days.
Making the most of the light nights the plan is to leave on the Friday evening after work heading to Kinross which is around 35 miles. The plan is to find a big apartment to do some carb loading and have a good sleep. Getting up early to start heading to Lunan Bay in Arbroath. This is about 60 miles and would involve going over the Tay Bridge in Dundee then following the coast. It would be at an enjoyable pace with a few stops for lunch and coffees. Staying in an apartment, hopefully near the beach, before heading up to Aberdeen on the Sunday completing the final 40 miles.
When we get to Aberdeen we will have a team meal and then for those of us who live in Edinburgh we will get the train back down in the evening.
