Running through the quad of Edinburgh

Whether it’s wanting to take on a new challenge, beat previous attempts or try something different with a bunch of friends, we love encouraging people to go out and push themselves! Here’s some events coming up local to Edinburgh. Get your crew and get training! At Rebel we often use the ethos ‘sign up now and worry about it later’ 😉

3rd March – Blast at the Meadows 5k – use your lunch break wisely and come along to the Meadows for a 5k. This is ran the first Tuesday of every month at 12.45pm and costs a fiver.

5th April Kilomathon – 6.5km or 13.5km starting off in Leith and finishing at Murrayfield. £25

20th April Tour De Lauder – Starting and ending in the borders town of Lauder this route has something for everyone and tackles some of the biggest climbs in Berwickshire. You have the choice of 89 miles or 50 miles.

26th April Bluebell 5k & 10k this set off at 11am in Dalkeith Country Park.

9th May GungHo – 5km inflatable obstacle course that takes place in The Meadows. £28

23rd/24th May – Edinburgh Marathon Festival – you have the choice of a 5k or 10k on the Saturday and a half marathon, full marathon or team relay on the Sunday.

30th May – Loch Ore Beast Race – a 12km obstacle course. We have a Rebel discount for this one. Get in touch if you’d like to join the Rebel team. £50

28th June – The Great Scottish Tattie Run – This one is a lot of fun! You can either do the full mile yourself or split into a team of 4 and do 400m each. It happens at Silverknowes Promenade.

11th July – Edinburgh 24 – a 24 hour running event around Arthurs Seat. Can be done solo or in a team of 4.

17th – 18th July – Run the Blades – the option of a 10k, half marathon or a 50k ultra run.

26th July – The Devils Foot Half Marathon – from Lauder to Melrose via the Eildon Hills. £32

29th August – The Highland Perthshire Challenge – A cycling event with the choice of a 50 mile cycle route or 100 mile cycle route. £35.

6th September – Tour o The Borders – This is another bike ride that starts and finishes in The Borders you have the choice of a 56 mile route or a 74 mile route. £68.

10th October – Tweed Valley Tunnel Run or Walk – you have the option of a 20k, 10k or 4k distance or a 3.5km walk. Running through beautiful scenery and a 600m tunnel, complete with lighting effects. £25

The best part of taking part in events is without a doubt the camaraderie and friendships that are made. You don’t have to be a seasoned athlete to experience this!
